A Message From the Director Minimize
Theatre in some form has existed in many societies, and plays have been performed in a vast variety of places and under the most diverse conditions. UpStage Theatre Company, Inc. was established in 2002 to serve as a venue to provide African-Americans and other performing artists of the Baton Rouge Community a unique opportunity to create and celebrate their artistic expressions.

The 2008 LIFE LESSONS THEATRE SEASON, spotlights our motto and supports educational, community and cultural development initiatives. It is our aim to present quality published and non-published works with four productions per year, the monthly poetry experience, a summer camp and acting workshops.

Through your support, UpStage Theatre Company, Inc. will provide the community thought-provoking theatrical experiences that will certainly last beyond the fall of the curtain.

Thank you for your continued support,
Ava Brewster-Turner, Ph.D.
Founder and Artistic Director
