UpStage Children's Program teaches acting and performance skills and prepares students to perform on stage for large audiences.  Students tackle the challenge of bringing the characters to life in a supportive, dynamic setting and revel in the camaraderie of the group.  The Children's Program will provide workshops for performing opportunities for our youngest performer, while introducing skills in character and scene development.  Students will build and strengthen skills key to successful acting such as observation, memorization, listening, focus and imagination in a creative and stimulating environment.  Performances will include scene work from children's literature as well as our student's original works.   

ACTING WORKSHOPS
Workshop participants make new friends, build self confidence and improve self-expression and communication through a delightful play-building experience that offers acting, voice, make-up, costumes and theatre games in an enjoyable ensemble process which inspires creativity.  Students learn independent thinking and build trust and self-discipline as they gain experience in performance techniques, body movement, improvisation and more.
